Anyone working or aspiring to work analytically and strategically should sooner or later read Julian Cole’s presentation “Digital Strategy Toolbox”. Not only does Julian list & explain tools used by digital strategists (which is already quite valuable content), but he also tells us how to interpret this data.. The result is a presentation that empowers its spectators to start using basic digital strategy tools.
DIGITAL STRATEGY 101 BY BUDD CADDELL
In his presentation “Digital Strategy 101”, Bud Caddell explains what digital strategy is essentially about. Users can decide whether to obtain a general impression of digital strategy or dig deeper; Bud’s presentation offers both. He even offers insight into why strategy is so essential in advertising and what challenges strategists face in everyday work. The second part of the presentation is a dictionary of essential terms. Very useful.
CRAP. THE CONTENT MARKETING DELUGE BY VELOCITY PARTNERS
Velocity Partner’s presentation is not on digital strategy per se (like the former two), but it addresses an issue that demonstrates the necessity of strategic guidance. The presentation depicts the consequences of mass content creation. The challenge of catching consumers’ attention in a world in which content is produced by everyone, everywhere and all the time is quite difficult to master. What starts off as a quite pessimistic (but true!) matter-of-fact presentation, turns into a valuable list of general steps to take in order to still stand out in the vast mass of content.
